Lead Keyboardist/Organist

Job Summary:

Lead Keyboardist/Organist at First Community-Antioch Baptist Church shall be responsible for leading and providing keyboard and organ accompaniment for all designated worship services and other church related programs/engagements under the guidance of the Choir Director.

Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a high level of proficient musical ability on the keyboard and organ.
• Responsible for attending scheduled rehearsals with choirs and other instrumentalists as necessary and directed by the Choir Director to properly prepare appropriate music accompaniment for worship service and other church related programs/engagements.

• In the absence of the Choir Director, schedule and lead all rehearsals.
• Must be reliable and maintain punctual attendance at all scheduled worship services, rehearsals, and meetings relative to position.
• Listen attentively and execute musical fundamentals while utilizing the keyboard and organ as requested by the Choir Director to achieve the overall vision of the music ministry.
• Assist in the development of the music ministry through education and training

Job Qualifications:

• Authentic and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
• Attend regular teaching ministries (Bible Study, Discipleship Hour, etc.) is required.
• Must have 10 or more years of keyboard or organ playing experience in a Baptist church.
• Have a passion for playing gospel music, both traditional and contemporary.
• The ability to read music is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
